Mumbai: Actress Juhi Chawla has been fined Rs 20 lakh by the Delhi High Court, which on Friday (June 4) dismissed her plea against the 5G rollout. Not only that, but the court has given another big blow to Juhi Chawla. The Delhi High Court said that the petitioner misused the legal process in this case (Delhi High Court dismisses plea by Juhi Chawla against 5G rollout imposes costs of Rs 20 lakh).
The High Court further said that in this case, it appears that the petition was filed only for publicity, hence the link was shared on social media. A bench of Justice GR Midha said in the order that the allegations were disturbing.
Legal action against the person singing the song
Action has also been taken against the person who sang during the High Court hearing. The court has issued contempt notice to the person concerned and all those who illegally participated in the hearing. The Delhi High Court has directed the Delhi Police to take action against such persons for obstructing the court hearing. At the same time, the court said, the petitioner did not even pay the full court fee, which is more than Rs 1.5 lakh.
The question presented by the court
Earlier, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday (June 2) had questioned Juhi Chawla for coming directly to court to challenge 5G wireless network technology without giving a statement to the government. Without giving any statement to the government about her concerns regarding technology, the High Court had also questioned Juhi Chawla’s direct suit against setting up 5G wireless network in the country (Delhi High Court dismisses plea by Juhi Chawla against 5G rollout imposes costs of Rs 20 lakh).
What exactly is Juhi’s petition?
Juhi Chawla said that these 5G schemes have serious, irreversible effects on humans and threaten permanent damage to the earth’s environment. The petition, filed by advocate Deepak Khosla, sought to direct the authorities to clarify whether 5G technology is safe for mankind, men, women, adults, children, infants, animals and all kinds of organisms.
Juhi had also made it clear that his agenda was not to ban 5G. “People have a misconception that we have filed a case against 5G technology,” she said. We all want to make it clear that we are not against 5G technology. However, we only appeal to the government and administrative authorities to answer whether 5G technology is safe for all mankind, men, women, children, the elderly, animals.
