Following the court’s decision, CAIT’s national president B.S. C. Recruitment and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal welcomed the Supreme Court decision.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court today rejected a petition challenging the CCI’s preliminary inquiry into Amazon and Flipkart violating competition laws. Following the court’s decision, CAIT’s national president B.S. C. Recruitment and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal welcomed the Supreme Court decision. “We also thank Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, who has repeatedly clarified the role of the Union government,” he said.
Today is a very important day for the business community in the country
Also, the law has not been allowed to be violated in India. He said that today is a very important and happy day for the business community of the country. This is the result of 2 years of relentless struggle by the Supreme Court against malpractices in the e-commerce business of Amazon and Flipkart and against the laws and regulations of Indian merchants to ensure free, fair and neutral e. The commercial environment in the country is fully committed.
CCI will now openly investigate Amazon and Flipkart
Bhartiya and Khandelwal said that after the Supreme Court rejected the pleas of both Amazon and Flipkart, now that the CCI has paved the way for it to examine the modules of both Amazon and Flipkart, the Supreme Court has ruled in favor of both. The e-commerce companies were given 4 weeks to reply to the questionnaire sent by the CCI. The questionnaire does not come in the way of any investigation, that is our opinion.
Doing business the desired way will be prohibited
Bhartiya and Khandelwal urged Union Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Piyush Goyal to implement the e-commerce rules immediately under the Consumer Protection Act so that no e-commerce companies, be they foreign multinationals or domestic e-commerce companies, get them. There should be no opportunity to establish or establish their dominance in the e-commerce business.
The ED should also serve a notice on Amazon
He also requested Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to direct Amazon to issue a Flipkart-style notice as similar complaints have been lodged against Amazon and Flipkart. CAIT’s complaint against Amazon is already pending with the Enforcement Directorate.
