What is 5G?

5G is the 5th generation of mobile network. Fast network speed, uninterrupted HD surfing, excellent service and more. The Government of India has approved 5G testing and spectrum will soon be made available to telecom companies. Airtel has also tested the 5G network.

In fact, 5G technology is the latest technology in cellular services. This could be called the next version of the 4G network. It will allow users to see more net speed, less latency and more flexibility. Until now cellular technology has focused on connectivity, but 5G cellular technology will go one step further and connect the client directly to the cloud.

When will 5G start in the country?

According to telecom experts, 5G services could be launched in India in the next 6-8 months. Because many companies are preparing to launch 5 by the end of this year. They have started taking steps in that direction. According to some experts, it may take at least 2 years for the domestic telecom market to be ready for 5G services.

Jio’s own network

Reliance Jio has already confirmed that it will develop an indigenous 5G network. Geo’s 5G network will be developed in India and its focus will be on Made in India and self-reliant India. At the same time, Airtel had confirmed successful 5G testing on commercial networks in Hyderabad. That said, their network is 5G ready and now they are just waiting for permission.

6 months for trials

Currently the duration of these trials is 6 months. It has a period of 2 months for purchase and installation of equipment. The permission clearly states that each telecom company will have to conduct trials in rural and semi-urban settings in addition to urban settings. So that 5G technology across the country will benefit as many people as possible and the network will not be limited to urban areas but will also reach semi-urban and rural areas.

Testing in different bands

Testing spectrum is offered in different bands, including mid-band (3.2 GHz to 3.67 GHz), millimeter wave band (24.25 GHz to 28.5 GHz) and sub-GHz band (700 GHz). Telecom companies are allowed to use existing spectrum (800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2500 MHz) to conduct their 5G trials.
